Bribie Island is the latest tourist and family holiday destination in Queensland, Australia. This is the only island connected to the mainland by a bridge crossing the Pumicestone Passage in Moreton Bay and is the northern-most island in Moreton Bay as well. Just 34 km long and just up to 8km is wide. It has a population of around 15,000 and much of the island is national park, so it offers non-polluted, unspoiled forests and white beaches.
Since 80% is forested, it offers a total relaxation for visitors and it consists of many spectacularly beautiful places to go on picnicking or off-road driving. Crystal clear water, long sandy beaches, and top class fishing are just a few that a person would get from Bribie.There is something for everyone at Bribie Island. Fishing, bird watching, boating are just some of them. One can learn how to surf at the surf school located at Bribie, or they just can enjoy the surf view.
The Bribie Island National Park is excellent for Bushwalkers, there are number of bush picnic and camping areas throughout the west coast. Most of them can be reached by a 4 wheel drive and of course, all of those areas can be visited by a boat.
